Constant rejuvenation is important to en-sure that you remain healthy and productive. In fact, there are also rejuvenation drugs that are today made by Ayurvedic medicine manufacturers. So what is rasayana? It is any activity, herb or food that can restore the body's vitality. It was designed to keep one fit both mentally and physically for decades. In many ways, we can think of it as Ayurveda's treatise on ageing correctly. Following a rasayana therapy will also ensure that you feel and look young. It must be emphasised here that rejuvenation is not the same as anti-ageing as we understand in the modern lexicon. Although the effect hear will be a restored vitality, it is not limited to the rather superficial effect of a glowing skin and hair. Instead, a youthful appearance is simply the by product of healthy living. Rejuvenation is more about a more fulfilled life that is enjoyed. Rasayana Therapy There are many Ayurvedic centres today that offer Rasayana therapy as a convenient package. People are invited to come over for a stay to purify and energise their body. So, what is this rejuvenation therapy and who should go for it? This therapy is recommended for everyone, including the young, healthy and sick. In fact, couples who are trying to conceive must go for rejuvenation before starting a new life. This philosophy is about ensuring a healthy life and not necessarily about avoiding old age. After this rasayana is administered through various herbal concoctions made by Ayurvedic medicine manufacturers. There are two types of rasayana therapies: Kutipravesika: In ancient times, this therapy was administered under a strict indoor stay in a kutir or cottage. One was confined under with very precise specifications and had to follow the instructions of the physician. The treatment was preceded by panchkarma. In many ways this is similar to today's 'retreat' therapies and suitable for people who need an intense treatment. Vatatapika: There is no necessity of confinement here and one can follow this treatment while leading a normal life. The only requirement is to take the rasayana formulations every morning in an empty stomach. Panchkarmais not essential here. Hence, it is more suitable for people who cannot afford to take any time off. Herbs that are good for rasayana:
